What it is

The keyboard shortcuts WolOS starts with: 82 keys for 80 actions. The names and keys here are the ones you see in System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Why

Super is the Command key. Super (the key with the Windows logo, shown as ⌘) with a letter gives the app in front its own command, so Super+C copies and Super+Q quits in every app, terminals included. Ctrl keeps its usual meaning inside apps. Spaces use Ctrl+Alt, so Ctrl+1 to 4 and Ctrl with the arrows stay with your apps.

How

  • See them on screen: press Shift+Super+/ (Super+?) for a sheet of every shortcut.
  • Change one: open Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, click the shortcut and press the new keys. If another shortcut has them, you see … is used by “…”. Swap their shortcuts? with Swap and Cancel. The reset button on a row brings back its key; Restore Defaults brings back every key on this page.
  • Add your own: in the same pane, a custom shortcut opens an app or runs a command; it needs a name and a command.
  • Settings shows keys as symbols: ⌃ Ctrl, ⌥ Alt, ⇧ Shift, ⌘ Super.

Search finds apps, settings, files and commands.
